Ok, holiday parties are not typically the Ketogenasis Review time to plan on losing weight, but with some planning and the Refuse to Diet attitude, it is possible to enjoy the festivities AND lose weight... or at least avoid packing on extra pounds. Eat Before It is tempting to "save calories" and skip meals when we know we are going to a party...after all, there will be food there so why eat before hand, right? Well, you will actually eat fewer things at the party if you eat a mini-meal before you head out the door. You never know what will be served and when it will be available. By having a snack before arriving if food at the event appears fashionably late then you aren't starving when it gets there. Conscious Choices Often at holiday gatherings there is an abundance of all varieties. One method is to sample everything and that's okay, after all trying new foods is fun-just take a bite-not a serving! Have a few bites on your plate at a time and pretend you are a food critic-really savor it, check out the subtle flavors and textures. Have only a few on your plate at your time to pace yourself. Alternatively, survey the scene and see what are, or appear to be, your favorites and choose only those foods. There is no reason you have to eat everything just because it is there. Drink UpOf course I'm talking about water. Alcoholic drinks can sabotage your efforts because of the calories, the sugar, and because the alcohol reduces your you relax, you tend to eat more. Alternate alcoholic drinks with water (sparkling or plain.) Better yet, have your water to alcoholic or high calorie non-booze drinks ("virgin" punch or eggnog for example) ratio be 2:1 or 3:1. You'll be more apt to stay sober and easily able to make conscious food choices AND you will keep your blood sugar levels more stable which will help during the party and into the next day.
